The God of Abraham

The God of Abraham is known throughout the world.
The Torah and the Prophets tell us of God's word
That calls us all to live with faith and righteousness,
For God wants us to rule the earth with justice.

Two thousand years ago a Jew in Palestine
Was killed upon a cross for teaching of God's reign.
In Jesus many see God's word in flesh and blood,
And so they follow him to find their way to God.

But others find God's word revealed in the Qur'an
That calls all people to proclaim our God is one.
The God of Abraham, who Moses heard on high,
Spoke to the son of Mary, and made him Christ.

Sing praises to our God, the God of Abraham,
The God revealed to Jews and Christians and Muslims,
The Lord, the great I Am, the Father, and Allah,
Creator of our every breath, the God of love.
